Ackee is Jamaica's national fruit. Interesting fact about ackee, it is poisonous when not ripened properly and when not cleaned properly. Tip: only eat ackee from a Jamaican by birth or decent or someone with years of training in preparing Jamaican cuisine. It is painted on canvas and hand embellished with polyester glitter.
